At junior high school, my friends said that my parents are too strict when I told them how my parents usually treat me. I was surprised to hear that. I wonder how parents supposed to be and I ask them one by one. Each of them said that they were free to choose anything they like in life. Unlike how my parents did to me.
I was so confused. Am I the only one?
I told my teacher about it and my teacher said, "They were strict to you because they love you. They want you to have the best in life."
After that, it was time to go home but it was raining heavily. Many students standing on the car parking lot for the shelter. It almost too crowded for me to joined. My friends told me I should stay under the shelter with them until my parents come. I refused. I chose to wait under the tree across the road where my parents usually pick me up.
I know it was stupid. But–
"You are soaking wet! Why don't you look for a shelter like what your friends do?!" My mom scolded.
"But if I stayed under the shelter like them, you wouldn't find me here," I replied.
My mom sighed. "It's better for you to stay under the shelter than getting soaked like this. Don't do this again when it's raining. Got that?"
I nodded.
My parents maybe are strict, but they love me. It's not like I love being scolded, it's hurt me, to be honest. I just like the idea that they are cared for me. That's the most important.
